Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He blends jazz from the soul genre with R&B for a distinctive mix. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's real the name of Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta however, she comes out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing as well as playing the piano at churches. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B music scene. In 2005 she took on the role of the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine gained national recognition through her performances on four consecutive days during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform at President Barack Obama's inaugural in 2009.
