Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963 into the musically inclined family of Newark New Jersey is the daughter of the gospel singers Cissy Houston as well as John Russell Houston Jr. They are also cousins of singer Dionne Warwick. The film, and her performance in it were not very popular, however the music and her interpretation of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You was a hit for a few months in the charts, and she sold over 44 million singles and albums across the globe. When she had her daughter Bobbi Brown, she got married to Bobby Brown of the ex-New Edition group. At this point, her documented drug use started and in 1996, the singer used to use drugs every day.
